Pricing - Xero Bookkeeping

Pay whatever it takes to get the right help so your family can get away from bookkeeping stress.

Remember that you can earn a lot more money by doing your trade and running your business well than you can save by doing your own bookkeeping.

You can't put a price on freedom from stress - but even if you could, you'd choose to make your bookkeeping hassles ours.

Pricing for our different bookkeeping packages - man working on laptop with graphs

We are ultra-reliable and we do exactly what we promise to do.

For most businesses, we save you more money than we cost.

We can charge in two ways - Your choice:

Hourly rate:
$70/hour

Not recommended - it costs more in the long run.

Remember, you’ll save money on the monthly rate

Monthly Rate: Even better for you

We'll look at exactly what you need and give you a price that's fair and affordable.

The monthly rate depends on what you need - but expect it to be about 60% of what you’d pay on an hourly rate.

Approximate Monthly Pricing:

Depends on what you need - Here's some examples for others - a ballpark figure:

  • 1 person business turning over $150K/year: around $300/month
  • 5 person business turning over $400K/year: around $500/month
  • 20 person business turning over $2.5Mill/year: around $1000/month

These are approximate figures and what you need will be different from what someone else needs.

You may want payroll processing as well.

Option for hourly rate initially + monthly rate for future months:

Sometimes your books are in such a messy state that we can’t give you a fair monthly rate until we get stuck into cleaning them up.

If you’re in this spot, we can give you an hourly rate for the first few hours of work while we really see what you need, and then we can move straight into a monthly rate after that.

Payroll

We’re happy to help with your payroll. That is an additional service and additional expense.

Avoid lock-in contracts - they’re not what you want:

If a bookkeeper is doing a great job, they don’t need to lock you in.  so try to avoid people who lock you in to long-term things.

The exception would be that occasionally another bookkeeper might want to put you on a monthly arrangement, but there might be an enormous amount of work at the start for them. Under those circumstances might book you for a set period of time, which would be fair enough.  But that's not how we work.

How much to move from QuickBooks or MYOB onto Xero?

Well first, let's be clear - it's a darn good idea to make the move.  You'll save a lot of time and money in the long run.

Moving to Xero often takes us a fair bit of work.  So that's a separate bookkeeping charge. It can be either a small job for a huge job, depending on factors like how long you've been operating and any transactions there are each month. We're happy to look at that for you, and the sooner you get off other software onto Xero, the happier you will be.
